The rural town of Calhan was incorporated in 1919.  Calhan has a population of around 900 (2000 census) with a median family income of $50,000.    Calhan’s  elevation  is  6,508 feet above sea level.  Calhan is a Colorado statutory town governed by an elected Mayor and six Trustees which comprise the Board of Trustees. The Mayor and Trustees are volunteers who receive no compensation for their service.
